We ventured to the Cities for our annual Easter weekend get-a-way with the Betterman's. We packed lots of fun into 3 short days! Friday included lunch and a titch of shopping in Maple Grove, and then we headed for the hotel and spent the evening splashing around at the Waterpark of America!
On Saturday, we did a little more splashing and G-man decided it was time to brave one of the big slides and hit a double tube ride from the 7th story with me. Luckily I had gone down one time before with Ellie and got all MY screaming out of the way! After that, he decided to walk up 10 stories to go on the crazy raft ride with me, Daddy, Ellie, and Uncle Robbie. I'm not sure whose eyes were biggest when we got off...probably mine.
After a quick lunch, we headed to the Mall of America. Again, just a titch of shopping for the 3 of us (more for the Betterman family) and we headed to check out Underwater Adventures. I had been there several years ago and thought it was pretty lame. Boy, how things change when you have a kid! Nate, Gavin, and I had the best time checking out all of the sea creatures. It was so neat to see Gavin get so excited. We will definitely go back, it was awesome and the highlight of our weekend. We finished the day off by eating dinner at Joe Spencer's and kicking back to enjoy a movie in the hotel room.
Easter Sunday was an early one. Miss Ellie was so excited that the Easter Bunny visited us at the hotel that she was wide awake at 6:30 a.m. The kids enjoyed hunting for all sorts of eggs. So much so, that Gavin didn't even flinch when he opened up the shower curtain and found a basket of goodies....he was more concerned about the eggs! After packing up, we were off to the Ripka's to visit my mom's side of the family. It was an absolutely beautiful day!
