Back Then

These little ones find their independence too fast. There once was a time when he relied on me, and only me, as his source of nourishment. I use to nestle him against me while we curled up in the rocking chair and he would nurse for what felt an eternity. Now he holds his own bottle while standing against the rocking chair snuggling his silky blankie. And bottles are less and less - only one before bedtime and sometimes one in the morning. He is eating big boy food and drinking from a sippy cup. He makes his way around the house all by himself and we rush to make sure we've got the gate secured and the bathroom door shut!

Instead of playing with the plethora of toys offered to him, he chooses the remote control and the telephone. He adores his big brother and is starting to test his patience. This summer we will be busy chasing after our little one year old...I get exhasted just thinking about it. Back then, things were different. It was still busy and chaotic but in such a different way.
