Giving Thanks Day

"That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all Your wondrous works." Ps 26:7

This year, Thanksgiving held a little more meaning that it had in prior years. Not that we haven't had plenty to be thankful for in the past, but this year has probably topped them all. On Wednesday night, Nate and I were talking after we put the boys to bed. He told me, "I just love how my life is right now, I'm just so happy!" I couldn't agree more.

Now that doesn't mean that everything is all sunshine and roses in the Hjelle Household every single day. But what it means is that all the recent trials we've faced over the last three years have made us stronger as a family and so appreciative of what we have today.

This year's list of giving thanks to God for all that He has blessed us with include:

  • The birth of our precious Breck and the gift of brothers! Yeah for boys!
  • Two beautiful and healthy sons - they are our entire world!
  • Our family who all live so close:
    • Our parents
    • Our four nieces and one nephew (one to be added very soon...)
    • Our brothers and sisters
    • Our grandparents
  • Friends - the wide variety of people we can call friends!
  • The ability to walk and the healing of my broken leg!
  • Our home - even though we feel like we are busting at the seams, we have a warm, comfortable place to come home to every night.
  • Nate's new job - just had his one year anniversary...he has done so well, made new friends, and has grown in so many ways.
  • My new job (more to come) - this exciting opportunity came at the MOST perfect timing.
  • Ellie's continued heart health...it's been over eight years since her open heart surgery and her heart continues to function well - Praise the LORD!
  • The wonderful outcome of my mother-in-law's battle with breast cancer!
  • Gavin's education - he is learning soooo much at pre-school this year, he blows me away!
The list could go on and on...Thank you for being part of our lives - each and every one of you are truly  a BLESSING on us!

My Little Turkey - drool and all
